Dr. Mrs. Ela Manoj Dedhia - Director

Dr. Ela brings over four decades of dedicated expertise to the realm of education, research, and sustainable development. As a seasoned educationist, she has assumed multifaceted roles, including InCharge Principal, IQAC Coordinator, and Head of the Department of Textiles and Fashion Technology at the esteemed College of Home Science Nirmala Niketan, affiliated with the University of Mumbai, NAAC Accredited A+ Grade.

As the Director of Anveshanam Foundation, a Section 8 Company, she is committed to Education, Research, Innovation, Publication of Technological Advancements in Industry, Indian Traditional Crafts and Health Sector.

Notably, she serves as a PhD Guide to the University of Mumbai, guiding more than 20 research scholars towards meaningful contributions in their fields. She actively engages in projects promoting the three R’s - Recycle, Reduce, Reuse. Her pioneering work involves rejuvenating traditional processes and exploring advanced technologies, with a particular focus on eco-friendly practices in the textile and apparel industry. She works extensively in skill development of the differently abled and economically challenged section of society. Dr Dedhia's dedication to sustainable development aligns with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Currently she is also representing NCCIP - AICTE, as a Regional Coordinator for the Central Region of India (covering Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh), and as a Resource person for Universal Human Values.

Her global impact extends to her role as a Trustee of the Society of Dyers and Colorists, UK, and as an Advisory Board member of NGN Next Generation Nations, USA.

Dr. Dedhia has received numerous accolades, including the Fellow of the Textile Association of India, the Bronze Medal and FSDC from the Society of Dyers & Colorist, UK, and the Kutch Shakti Award.

Her extensive publication record includes over 100 papers in prestigious national and international journals, as well as authored books such as "Ajrakh- Expressions and Impressions" and "Compendium of Natural Dyes”, Ecofriendly Finishes” etc.

As a visionary leader, Dr. Dedhia has organized national and international conferences, seminars, and workshops, earning recognition as a keynote speaker and chairperson at National and International conferences both in India and abroad.

Her influence extends to various boards, including those of universities and organizations, where she contributes her wealth of knowledge in board of studies, advisory, jury, examination panel roles, etc.

Her tireless efforts reflect a profound commitment to sustainable development, making her an invaluable voice in the discourse on Sustainable Branding, Social Aspects of Sustainability, and CSR in Textile and Apparel Industry.
